HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 (HC2026 or the "Event") is organized by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., with technology and management support from its affiliates (collectively referred to as "Huawei", "we", or "us"). HC2026 is held online and onsite in Shanghai, China (September 17–19, 2026). This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how Huawei uses and protects your personal data during your registration and participation in the Event. You can read the Policy to understand the scope, purpose, and means of personal data processing. By accepting this Policy, you consent only to the processing of necessary personal data. If you choose not to provide necessary personal data or not agree to the processing of necessary personal data, you will not be able to attend HUAWEI CONNECT 2026. Your consent will be requested for optional functions that involve personal data processing.
This policy explains how Huawei process your personal data. However, this policy may not cover all scenarios in the event, and the scenarios not covered will be addressed in a separate dedicated privacy statement or in subsequent updated policies.
This Policy helps you understand the following content:
Personal data means any data that, either on its own or jointly with other data, can be used to identify a natural person and does not include information being anonymized. When you use Huawei products and services or interact with us, we may collect your personal data. The data types we collect will vary depending on the product and service you use and how you interact with Huawei. In some cases you may be able to opt not to disclose your personal data to Huawei. However, not providing Huawei with certain data may mean that we cannot provide you with certain products or services or respond to an issue that you have raised. (1) When you receive the invitation of this event and agree to participate, we will collect your first name, last name, company/organization name, industry, position, email address, phone number, and gender for the purpose of resource reservation and appointment scheduling for this event, including: keynote speeches, showcase visits, executive meetings, technical exchanges, etc.
(2) When you need our assistance in obtaining an invitation for visa processing, booking travel accommodations and meals, we will need to collect your valid identification information, phone number, flight details, accommodation details, and any special dietary requirements.
(3) When you receive the event notice and complete the registration, we will collect your invitation code, first name, last name, email address, phone number, country/region, company name, industry, and whether you agree to the use of facial recognition technology for identity verification at event entrance. If you have chosen to agree to Huawei and its authorized partners sending you information related to Huawei products, solutions, or services, and wish not to receive the above information any more, withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button in the marketing email. In compliance with the legal obligations regarding the safety management of mass events, the organizers of large exhibitions must implement a real-name registration and entry system. We will also collect your type of identification document and its number (choose from one of the following: the number of resident identity card of the People's Republic of China, passport, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Permanent Residents, or Mainland Travel Permits for Taiwan Residents). After a successful registration, we will generate a unique participant ID and RFID number to be displayed on your event participant card (i.e., participant ID badge) automatically.
(4) For better event experience, we will send you event reminders including registration results, agenda notice, live stream reminders, and participation notices. We may push these event reminders through your registered email, phone number, or the mobile internet application (Huawei Connect) you use.
(5) When you collect your participant badge, please present your valid identification document or the registration confirmation email. The participant badge will display your first name, last name, company, badge ID, QR code, and the participant type. In addition, Huawei employees who invited you or accompanying you may obtain your consent and present their valid identification document or email to collect your event badge in advance on your behalf.
(6) When you use the mobile application (Huawei Connect) dedicated to this event, we will collect your device information, as well as your chosen industry, technology, and topic tags for this event. Please carefully read the privacy statement of Huawei Connect application before using.
(7) During the live stream of the event, we will send an email to your registered mailbox, containing a live stream link and a verification code. If the live stream could be watched without login, we will collect information such as the random ID generated by the live stream platform for you, your IP address, and the start and end times. If the live stream requires login, we will collect your registered phone number or email address, visitor ID (customer ID and timestamp), IP address, start and end times, etc.
(8) When you fill out the survey, we will collect your event badge ID, company information, evaluation of Huawei's products and solutions, project requirements, and any other questions related to other products or solutions.
(9) When you participate in on-site interactions or experience the products, solutions, or services of demonstration, we may collect your personal data. Please be sure to carefully read the privacy statement placed on-site.
(10) At the event site, our staff will take photography and shoot videos within the venue to record the event or interview guests that may include processing of your portrait and voice information. The recorded materials may include, but are not limited to, electronic records, video tapes, audio tapes, and photos. The aforementioned recorded materials will only be used for the purposes of event recording and promotion. If you do not wish to be recorded or Huawei to use any materials related to you, please contact Huawei staff at the event in a timely manner.
(11) For better network experience at the event, you may use the free Wi-Fi access service we provide based on your needs. In this case, we need to collect your mobile phone number, IP address, MAC address, and the time of login and logout of your mobile terminal device to provide the Wi-Fi access service.
(12) With your consent, we will contact you based on the email you submit to send you information about products and services that may interest you, Huawei event (including promotional events) invitation, market surveys, or satisfaction surveys, or marketing information. If you do not wish to receive such information, unsubscribe at any time.
In compliance with the legal obligations regarding the safety management of mass events, the organizers of large exhibitions must implement a real-name registration and entry system. We will also collect your type of identification document and its number (choose from one of the following: the number of resident identity card of the People's Republic of China, passport, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Permanent Residents, or Mainland Travel Permits for Taiwan Residents).
You can choose either the facial recognition entry or the manual entry as your event entry method. Please note that facial recognition entry is not mandatory and you may choose manual verification instead. If you choose facial recognition entry, it is recommended to use the resident identity card recognition.
1) If you choose to use the resident identity card for facial recognition entry, we will collect your facial features on-site and compare them with the facial information associated to the People's Republic of China resident identity card. Once the verification is successful, you will be able to enter. The facial recognition device for identification document could only verify the People's Republic of China Resident Identity Card. If you hold other types of identification documents (such as passports, Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Permanent Residents, or Mainland Travel Permits for Taiwan Residents), please choose manual verification instead.
2) If you choose to use the QR code of your event badge for facial recognition entry, we will collect your facial features on-site and compare them with the facial information previously collected. Once the verification is successful, you will be able to enter. (When using this entry method, we need to collect your event badge and your facial feature information in advance and store them on servers located in China. However, we do not store the original facial images. The stored facial information will be deleted within one working day after the event ends.)
3) If you choose the manual entry and have received the event badge, our staff will use the Portable Digital Assistant (PDA) to scan your event badge ID to verify your personal data, including name, company, valid identity document, and entry rights. If you have registered and do not bring your event badge, our staff will ask you to enter your name, email, identity document number, or mobile phone number on the PDA to verify your identity and entry right. When the staff confirms your entry on the PDA, we will collect your event badge id and the time of admission.
Where permitted by law, we also obtain relevant data from public and commercial third parties, or public sources, for example, by purchasing statistics from other companies to support our services.
Huawei may also collect and use non-identifiable data. Non-identifiable data refers to data that cannot be used to establish an individual's identity. For example, Huawei collects aggregated statistics, such as website visits, to understand how users use their websites, products, and services so that Huawei could improve its services to satisfy customer needs. Huawei may, at its discretion, collect, use, process, transfer, or disclose non-identifiable data for other purposes. We do our best to isolate your personal data and non-identifiable data and use them separately. If personal data is mixed with non-identifiable data, it will be handled as personal data.
To ensure our website works correctly, we may at times place a small piece of data known as a cookie on your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a text file stored by a web server on a computer or mobile device. The content of a cookie can be retrieved or read only by the server that creates the cookie. The text in a cookie often consists of identifiers, site names, and some numbers and characters. Cookies are unique to the browsers or mobile applications you use, and enable websites to store data such as your preferences or items in your shopping cart.
Like many other websites or Internet service providers, Huawei uses cookies to improve user experience. Session cookies are deleted after each visit, while persistent cookies remain in place across multiple visits. Cookies allow websites to remember your settings such as language, font size on your computer or mobile device, or other browser preferences. This means that a user does not need to reset preferences for every visit. On the contrary, if cookies are not used, websites will treat you as a new visitor every time you load a web page. For example, if you are redirected to another web page from a website you are already logged in to and then return to the original website, it will not recognize you and you must log in again.
Huawei will not use cookies for any purposes not stated in this policy. For further details on our use of cookies, please see our Cookies Notice. You can manage or delete cookies based on your own preferences. You can clear all the cookies stored on your computer, and most web browsers provide the option of blocking cookies. In addition to cookies, we may also use other similar technologies on our websites such as web beacons and pixel tags. For example, when you receive an email from Huawei, it may contain a click-through URL that links to a Huawei web page. If you click the link, Huawei will track your visit to help us learn about your preferences for products and services and improve our customer service. A web beacon is a transparent graphic image embedded in a website or in an email. We use pixel tags in emails to find out whether an email has been opened. You can unsubscribe from the Huawei mailing list at any time if you do not want to be tracked in this manner.
By using our website, you consent to the use of cookies, web beacons and pixel tags as described above.
Generally, Huawei does not disclose your personal data to external parties, except in the following scenarios:
（1）If certain services are provided by Huawei's authorized partners, Huawei will share your personal data with the partner as described in this policy. For example, if Huawei entrusts a partner to handle service hotline, send emails, provide technical support, etc., on behalf of Huawei, we will require the partner to use your personal data only for providing services to you on behalf of Huawei; to produce your event badge, Huawei will entrust the exhibition service provider to process your personal data to print and produce the event badge; and if you need Huawei to arrange your travel itinerary, Huawei has to share your personal data with hotel, airlines, and vehicle service providers to book your travel services. When you choose the facial recognition entry by People's Republic of China Resident Identity Card, your facial information will be sent to the facial verification system to verify. The verification system does not retain your facial information and only returns the verification result.
（2）Under applicable legal requirements or in response to legal procedures, Huawei may also disclose your personal data to relevant law enforcement agencies or other government agencies.
（3）If you are an event speaker, we will, after obtaining your authorization, display your name, industry, company, job title, photos, and videos at the event venue for event presentation. Your name, industry, company, job title, photos, and videos will also be displayed online, such as on the official event website, the event application, and Huawei's official social media accounts, to help participants in planning their activities during the event, and promote the event.
（4）Photographs, event videos, and interview videos taken at the event venue will be used in event promotions, such as on the official event website and Huawei's official social media accounts. If you do not wish Huawei to use any recorded materials about you, please contact us in time.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all personal data submitted to Huawei is correct. Huawei is dedicated to maintaining the accuracy and completeness of personal data and keeping the data up-to-date.
To the extent required by applicable law, you may (i) have the right to access certain personal data we maintain about you, (ii) request that we update or correct inaccuracies in that data, (iii) object or restrict to our use of your personal data, and (iv) ask us to delete your personal data from our database. To exercise these rights, please click here to give your feedback online. Your written request may be required for security. We will verify your personal identity as required by local laws. We may decline the request if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the request is a fraudulent, unfeasible or may jeopardize the privacy of others.
If allowed by applicable laws, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time when Huawei processes your personal data based on your consent. However, withdrawal does not affect the legitimacy and effectiveness of how we process your personal data based on your consent before the withdrawal is made; nor does it affect any data processing based on another justification other than your consent.
The security of your personal data is important to us. We use appropriate physical, management, and technical measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss. For example, we use cryptographic technologies for data confidentiality, protection mechanisms to prevent attacks, and access control mechanisms to permit only authorized access to your personal data. We also provide training on security and privacy protection for employees to raise their awareness of personal data protection. Huawei is committed to protecting your personal data; however, please note that no security measure is perfect.
We will retain your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes stated in this Policy, unless otherwise extending the retention period is required or permitted by law. The data storage period may vary with scenario, product, and service. The standards Huawei uses to determine the retention period are as follows: the time required to retain personal data to fulfill business purposes, including providing products and services; maintaining corresponding transaction and business records; controlling and improving the performance and quality of products and services; ensuring the security of systems, products, and services; handling possible user queries or complaints and locating problems; etc.
The retention periods for data collected at this event are as follows:
1) Your personal data collected in scenarios such as registration, event badge collection, event entry, check-in, attending keynote speeches and summits, and submitting questionnaires during the live streams and, will be stored for two years. If you have no interaction with Huawei in the subsequent two years, we will anonymize or delete the collected personal data.
2) Personal data collected when Huawei drafts an invitation letter for your visa, or books travel accommodations and meals, will be deleted within one year.
3) The facial feature information recorded before your event badge production or event entry will be deleted within one working day after the event.
4) When you use the facial recognition entry, the collected facial feature information will not be stored and will only be used for identity verification to match the attendee and the badge.
5) If you are an event speaker, we will obtain your authorization, and the retention period of the personal data will be handled in accordance with requirements of the authorization letter.
6) We will take photographs and shoot videos at the event venue, which may contain your personal data. The photographs and videos taken will be uploaded to the cloud service and will be deleted from the cloud service one month after the event and synchronized to Huawei's internal storage. The data of internal storage will deleted within two years after the event.
7) The personal data collected through event interactions will be deleted after the event in general. The retention period shall be subject to the privacy statement displayed at the event venue.
8) If you use the Wi-Fi provided by Huawei, the collected personal data will be deleted within three months after the event.
9) If you use the event's dedicated mobile application (Huawei Connect), the collected personal data will be retained for a certain period. For detailed information, please refer to the privacy statement of the Huawei Connect mobile application.
This activity is intended for adults aged 18 year and above. A minor must not register for or participate the event. If we discover that we have collected any personal data of minors, we will attempt to delete the data as soon as possible.
To ensure a positive user experience, you may receive content or web links from third parties other than Huawei and its partners ("third parties"). Huawei does not have the right to control such third parties, but you can choose whether to use the links, view the content and/or access the products or services provided by third parties.
Huawei cannot control the privacy practices and data protection policies of third parties that are not subject to this Policy. When you submit personal data to such a third party, please read and refer to the privacy protection policy of the third party.
As a global company, your personal data collected by Huawei may be processed or accessed in the country/region where you use our products and services or in other countries/regions where Huawei or its affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers or business partners have a presence. These jurisdictions may have different data protection laws. In such circumstances, Huawei will take measures to ensure that data is processed as required by this Policy and applicable laws, which includes when transferring the data subject’s personal data from the EU to a country or region which has not yet been acknowledged by the EU Commission as having an adequate level of data protection, we may use a variety of legal mechanisms, such as signing standard contractual clauses approved by the EU Commission, obtaining the consent to the cross-border transfer of a data subject in the EU, or implementing security measures like anonymizing personal data before cross-border data transfer. Therefore, the personal data provided to Huawei will be stored on servers located within the territory of the People's Republic of China.
Huawei reserves the right to update or change this Policy at any time. We will release the latest Privacy Policy on this page for any changes. If major changes are made to the Privacy Policy, we may notify you through different channels, for example, posting a notice on our website or sending you direct notification.
